Die Workwear: Excited to Wear This Spring

Every year, Die Workwear’s Derek Guy shares his “Excited to Wear” list as the seasons shift. More than a shopping guide, it’s a mood. This spring, his picks are tied together by a single idea: that leisure doesn’t need to be justified. His wardrobe reflects that mindset - unhurried, slightly nostalgic, and grounded in use.

The standout this season is the Augie loafer from August Special, a soft, slipper-adjacent shoe with the DNA of Ralph Lauren’s Double RL. It's not a first loafer, he says, but the kind you graduate into. There’s also a strong case made for camp collar shirts with roomy shorts, a combo he compares to vintage photos of Greek and Cuban men in seaside cities - relaxed, but still considered.

Other essentials include cotton suits, prized not for polish but for the way they rumple and soften with wear, and workhorse chambray shirts that pair just as well with off-white jeans as with painter pants or olive fatigues. He describes one Bryceland’s model as a “Swiss Army Knife” for summer. Fishing jackets also get a mention - not because of their storage but because checking each pocket before leaving the house forces a moment of pause.

Even his grocery bag of choice gets the full Die Workwear thoughtfulness. It’s a French netted market bag, once used by Norman fishermen and Soviet citizens, now toted for fruit runs and the simple pleasure of a walk. “Just enough for a salad and maybe some fruit,” he writes. Leisure, like good style, doesn’t have to make a case for itself. It just has to feel right.

Tyler, the Creator Reworks the Converse One Star Pro

Tyler, the Creator is back with another Converse collaboration, this time putting a clean, skate-ready twist on the One Star Pro.

Releasing under his GOLF WANG label, the shoe drops in two bold colorways: emerald green and vivid blue with a plush suede upper, white contrast stitching, and an all-white sole. It’s an update that dials back the flamboyance of earlier GOLF le FLEUR* releases in favor of something more minimal and skate-focused, but still distinctly Tyler. Small embroidered flames near the eyelets nod to the GOLF brand’s playful DNA, while the insole is co-branded and built with performance in mind.

Available now via Converse’s website and select retailers, this drop continues Tyler’s run as one of fashion’s most consistent tastemakers, blending West Coast skate culture with a sharp design sensibility that keeps both sneakerheads and stylists watching.

Franklin & Poe Teams Up with OldSpeed for Handmade Philly Boot

Philadelphia menswear retailer Franklin & Poe has partnered with local craftsman OldSpeed MFG on a rugged debut boot collaboration. Handbuilt by one-man bootmaker Joe Gradisher in his Kensington workshop, the limited-edition pair is based on OldSpeed’s signature 8-inch engineer boot, known for its minimalist pattern and precise handwelted construction. The boot features a roughout kudu leather upper from British tannery CF Stead, a 270-degree storm welt, and a Vibram 705 half sole with Cat’s Paw-style heels.

Each pair is made to order, taking over 40 hours to produce, and includes natural edge finishing and solid brass hardware. Franklin & Poe has long championed small-batch American makers, and this collab reinforces their dedication to local talent and handmade quality.

Orders are open now through Franklin & Poe’s website.
