Issue #75 | Why Every Stylish Man Is Suddenly Wearing Tiny Watches
Plus, a clean-cut workwear revival from Bronson and Uniqlo U’s latest essentials for unpredictable spring weather
Welcome to Style Uncut. The latest and greatest in men’s fashion and style brought direct to your inbox every week.

A Cut Clean from the ‘70s
Bronson is known for its faithful reproductions of heritage workwear, drawing on military and industrial designs from the 20th century. Based in China, but with a relentless focus on craft and quality, the brand specialises in small-batch production with a commitment to detail—from period-correct patterns to hard-wearing fabrics and hardware.
This week we’re highlighting a modern take on 1970s straight-leg work pants, combining vintage detail with contemporary utility. The cut features a clean, pleat-free front and a mid-to-high rise, offering a smooth drape and a structured fit. Unlike earlier khakis, this style includes a separate waistband for improved shaping through the waist and hips. Made in a 310g weight, the fabric balances durability with easy care—resisting wrinkles and holding its shape through wear.
Featuring a YKK hook closure, IDEAL zipper, and practical front and back pockets, this is a solid choice for everyday, whether paired with a sweatshirt for a more casual look or a structured jacket for something slightly elevated.

Uniqlo U Unveils Spring/Summer 2025 Collection with a Focus on Adaptable Layering
Uniqlo U has revealed its much anticipated Spring/Summer collection for 2025, designed as always by Christophe Lemaire this time in collaboration with Sarah-Linh Tran, under the title Layers of Spring. The range continues the line’s focus on functional essentials, this time built around the idea of weather-adaptive dressing.
Lightweight cotton tees, roomy blouson jackets, and techy UV-protective accessories form the core of the release, which is designed to be adjustable as conditions change. The colour palette leans neutral—crisp whites, soft blues, and industrial greys—with cuts that emphasise comfort and movement.
Now a mainstay of Uniqlo’s seasonal calendar, the Uniqlo U line is developed at the brand’s Paris research and design HQ. The Spring/Summer 2025 collection is now available to check out online.

Why men are wearing tiny watches now
In a feature for The Sunday Times, Robin Swithinbank unpacks the rise of small watches in men’s fashion, tracing the trend from red carpet appearances to shifting ideas about masculinity and proportion:
So, let’s talk about size. How big, how thick and, frankly, how impressively well proportioned is yours? Honestly? And when I say yours, of course I mean your wristwatch. But you knew this. In men’s watches, a bit Carry On though it seems, it has always been a question of size, whether the watch is a style statement or, sticking with the honesty policy, a … substitution. Only of late has the story somehow gone into reverse.
Timothée Chalamet, Paul Mescal, Bad Bunny, Tyler, the Creator and even the perpetually grizzled Ben Affleck have been watch-spotted courtside and on red carpets sporting teeny-tiny cocktail watches, the kind not long ago considered the sole preserve of — to use the traditional bracketing — women. Gentlemen, anyone for a Panthère de Cartier? An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Mini? Or what about a vintage Patek Philippe, perhaps with a stone dial and a diamond or two thrown in for good measure?
