Derek Guy’s Guide to Timeless Menswear This Season
Die Workwear! has become probably the most prominent commentator and influencer when it comes to classic men’s styling and fashion over the last couple of years. Fueled by his viral posts on Twitter he has become the go to source for guidance on how to have good style as a modern man.
That means that his guide to what he’s looking forward to wearing each season has become appointment reading and the iteration released this week is no exception.
He begins with Golden Details, celebrating the brass-buttoned blazer, once dismissed as too fusty but now embraced for its charm and versatility. Guy’s picks include double-breasted blazers from The Armoury or Spier & Mackay, finished with vintage buttons from Benson & Clegg or eBay.
Next, he praises the understated appeal of corduroy, a fabric that only improves with age. From J. Press corduroy suits to rugged five-pocket cords by RRL, he highlights its ability to move seamlessly from casual to polished.
In Fresh Denim, Guy delves into slim-straight cuts like Resolute’s 710 and the vintage-inspired Levi’s 1947 501s, with a nod to Bryceland’s bootcut jeans for those drawn to the trending Western aesthetic.
Outerwear takes center stage in Heat Bubbles, where padded bombers like Monitaly’s wool jacket or Alpha Industries’ MA-1 add a cozy, rounded silhouette. Finally, Cold Cowboys explores a 1970s ski-meets-Western vibe with Rocky Mountain Featherbed’s Christy jacket, denim Western shirts, and chunky Cowichan sweaters.

Hermès Wants to Redefine How You Dress for Winter
Hermès, a brand synonymous with timeless elegance and meticulous craftsmanship, has once again made a splash with its Fall-Winter 2024 men’s collection. Building on a storied legacy of blending tradition with innovation, Hermès delivers a range of pieces that provide its customary understated sophistication. This collection weaves together the brand’s heritage of fine tailoring and its commitment to quality.
Outerwear takes center stage, with standout pieces like the Paul coat (£5,018) and the Puffer coat with leather detail (£5,222), perfect for combating winter chills with elegance. Luxurious knitwear includes the Cashmere "Maillon Chaine d'Ancre" crewneck sweater (£1,946) and the "Jeu de points harnais" crewneck sweater (£1,280). For versatility, the Run H jogging pants (£973) and Saint Germain fitted pants (£594) balance casual comfort with sharp design.
It’s a collection that asks one question: if you’re going to brave the cold, why not do it in something iconic? Hermès makes a strong case for elevating winter dressing to an art form.

Your Everyday Carry Just Got an Upgrade
Taylor Stitch knows that the right accessories can make your day run smoother and look better doing it. Their everyday carry collection isn’t about flash—it’s about timeless, functional essentials that wear in beautifully and never out. Take The Twisted Cuff in Brass, for instance. Handmade with the kind of subtle flex that pairs well with a rugged field jacket but also with tailored wool.
Then there’s the Pathfinder Cap in Khaki Dry Wax, which is both practical and quietly stylish. And don’t overlook their leather wallets, wool scarves, and durable socks, all built with the same attention to detail.
What makes this collection special isn’t just the craftsmanship, though—it’s how these pieces get better with every nick, scuff, and use. If you’re looking to refine your carry setup, Taylor Stitch has you covered.
