Quality footwear from Poland via Sheffield
This week we wanted to highlight an historic footwear brand with a fascinating history. Founded in Poland over 80 years ago, family owned Goral relocated to Sheffield, England in 2008 to carry on their heritage shoe and boot making in the heart of British shoe country.
What sets Goral apart is the marrying of leathers from some of the best tanneries in the world with a construction technique that features a cup sole that is both blake and side stitched. This produces a result that is resoleable, flexible, lightweight and more waterproof than the goodyear welt that would be more common.
One of the best examples currently available is this Sharman boot in a beautiful natural or undyed combination tanned leather from storied Chicago manufacturer Horween. A classic lace-up 7 eye derby book with a pared back minimal upper on Goral’s signature cupsole makes this the perfect versatile boot for daily wear.
