The history of the New Balance 327

Quality menswear retailer Stuart’s has a fascinating history of the New Balance 327 on its website in honour of the re-imagining of the footwear icon for the SS24 season.

The New Balance footwear roster, distinguished by its numeric-named models like the 1500 and the 991, is unparalleled. The essence of the New Balance story lies in crafting trainers that fulfill their intended purpose, primarily focused on running, which has always been the cornerstone of NB’s athletic heritage. While New Balance has ventured into other sports with court shoes and football boots, running remains its primary focus. Although the New Balance 327 trainer made its debut in 2020, its heritage predates the realm of catwalk gossip and Paris fashion week, running deeper than mere contemporary trends.

Check out the full history over on their website where you can also shop the 327 and their full New Balance collection.

Nike Air Force 1 Low "Kobe Bryant" coming in 2024

House of Heat have a pretty great history of Kobe Bryant sneaker collabs as part of their announcement that Nike will be dropping a new one later this year.

In 2003, the basketball world watched as Kobe Bryant, freshly untethered from Adidas, became the focal point of fierce competition among sneaker brands vying for his endorsement. Amid this high-stakes scramble, Nike emerged victorious, securing Bryant's allegiance and setting the stage for a partnership that would redefine basketball sneakers. Interestingly, the Air Force 1, a silhouette far removed from the performance basketball models Bryant would later popularize, may have played a pivotal role in this courtship.

Early reports have the pair penned for an April release, though this is yet to be specified by the brand. Keep it locked to House of Heat to learn when they drop.
